Martin Sturm
As a teenager, I discovered my passion for the second most beautiful thing in the world. Like many bonsaiists, I was introduced to this wonderful hobby by a bonsai, that my mother gave me when I was 10 years old. My path quickly led me to the Zentner bonsai garden in my hometown of Schifferstadt and from there to the great bonsai teachers in Europe.

The first steps
Danny Use from Belgium had a particularly big influence on me. I spent weeks in his shop and school learning the basic skills of bonsai design and care. I also improved my skills in the technical area of bonsai design at countless workshops with Horst Krekeler, Serge Clemence, Hotsumi Terakawa and some Japanese masters.
Valuable experiences
Since 2004, I have worked in specialist shops such as the Bonsai Park Remscheid, the Bonsai Gallery Rüger and the Bonsai Center Münsterland, reworking trees and leading workshops and seminars. To this day, I give courses and demonstrations at working groups and bonsai events all over Germany. In 2004, I also began working with the specialist magazine Bonsai-Art. To this day, I write specialist articles about the design and care of bonsai for this renowned magazine.

Own shop
Since 2008, I have been running my own specialist shop together with my wife. In the area of bonsai sales, we are distinguished by our direct access to the Japanese bonsai market, which enables us to offer a very high quality of bonsai and raw material. In addition to sales, our focus is on self-designed seminars and supporting our customers in the care and design of their bonsai.
In addition to my bonsai CV, you will find a very informative portrait with pictures from my youth on www.bonsai-fachforum.de .
